How long do the units last?

With proper care, units can last from 1–2 years or even longer.

Is it human hair?

Some of our units are made with human hair lace wigs while others are made with synthetic hair lace wigs and braided with braiding hair as you would your natural hair.

Pros and Cons of our synthetic-based full lace wigs

Pros:

  • $100–$300 cheaper
  • Quality still amazing, comparable to our human hair–based units
  • Still has human hair around the perimeter for baby hair
  • Will last longer with fewer flyaways over time compared to human hair units
  • Can customize any style or color you’d like
  • Low maintenance: more affordable than human hair wigs and requires less upkeep. They retain their style well and don’t need frequent washing.

Cons:

  • You can’t bleach the knots because the hair is synthetic.
  • You can’t remove the braids and use the wig as loose hair.
What type of lace is used?

Typically we use Swiss full lace, frontals, and closures in medium brown or transparent lace. Sometimes we use a more expensive silk base lace.

Due to the lace shortage worldwide, we don’t always use the same lace for every unit.

We don’t use HD lace at all — the lace is too thin for braid units.

Can they be worn glueless?

Yes. Glueless simply means the unit is applied and secured without any adhesive or tape.

Please consult a professional for glueless application if you’re unsure how to apply.

Are the braid wigs heavy?

This depends on the person. One customer may feel a unit is heavy while another may not.

Some units may mimic a freshly installed set of braids on natural hair. Remember: the longer the length, the more weight the unit may have.

Our most lightweight units are the Bantu Knots and any Knotless braid units.

Are units ready to wear out of the package?

No. You will need to customize the unit to your liking — this may include plucking and styling baby hairs and bleaching knots more if you desire (units come pre-bleached).

We recommend using concealer or lace tint instead of additional bleaching to avoid damaging the unit and to help with longevity.

When I received my unit it was frizzy.

Boho locs and box braids may be frizzy when received. These units are made with human hair strands cut directly from bundles with no product applied.

Once you customize and apply the unit, we recommend using mousse to revitalize the curls.

Avoid aggressively running your fingers through the boho units — this can cause shedding. Mousse can also be applied to tame flyaways.

I love your units, but I don’t see a style or color I like.

Which unit is best for beginners?

Amber, Kiva, or Sunkist — these units are best for self-application and are our best glueless options. Simply put on, cut the lace, and go.

Can you customize baby hair?

No. We don’t customize baby hairs because everyone’s head shape is different and baby hairs need to be cut and styled to fit your face frame.

How long does shipping take?

Please refer to our Shipping and Returns policy for full details.

PREORDERS: Due to high demand, we now take preorders to guarantee that you secure your unit.

Each unit is handmade — please allow up to 2–3 weeks for your order to process (not including weekends or holidays). During big event sales (CEO birthday, Black Friday, Christmas), shipping can take up to 4 weeks.

We cannot rush preorders. If you choose express shipping at checkout, your unit will be shipped express after your unit is complete.

If you order a preorder unit and an in-stock unit together, both will ship when the preorder unit is complete. You may purchase units separately or email us for an invoice to pay for separate shipping.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we ship worldwide.

We recommend purchasing Route package protection at checkout to protect your package in the event it is lost or stolen.

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

I placed an order but never received a confirmation email.

If you do not receive an email from Girl Issa Wig within a few hours of placing your order, please check your spam folder.

Alternatively, the email address entered may have been spelled incorrectly.

I love an item, but it is sold out. What can I do and how often do you restock?

We get new items weekly and often restock our most popular units.

Visit the product page of your favorite item and look for the “NOTIFY ME WHEN BACK IN STOCK” button. Once the item is restocked, you’ll be notified via email.

How can I tell if a unit is in stock?

Read the description of the unit you’re interested in, usually found under or next to the product picture.

If it mentions preorder, it is not in stock and the turnaround time will be listed.

If there is no preorder note, the unit is in stock and can ship immediately.

Can I use more than one coupon code?

No. You cannot stack coupon codes — only one code can be used per order.

Don’t forget to add your coupon code at checkout; we cannot adjust your order once it’s placed.

What size caps are your wigs?

Most of our wigs come in a standard cap size that fits small and medium heads best.

If your head circumference is larger than 22.5 inches, our standard wig cap will likely not fit. We can custom-make a unit in a large cap — simply email us or add a note in your cart.

Custom and preorder units can take up to 2–3 weeks (not including weekends or holidays).

Can the braids be taken down?

Yes — but only on the human hair–based braid wigs.

The hair length underneath is about 8 inches long, so if you plan on styling the unit you’ll need to add bundles for extra length or wear it in a pixie cut style.
